The process of wastepaper recycling involves mixing used/old paper with water and chemicals to break it down, then it is chopped up and heated, which breaks it down into strands of cellulose, which is a type of organic plant material. This mixture is called pulp, or slurry. The pulp is strained through screens, which remove any plastic that may still be in the mixture, it is then cleaned, and any ink is removed, bleached, and mixed with water. The pulp is then made into new recycled paper.
